What is ATEX?

ATEX is the European Directive which governs safe use of electrical and mechanical equipment in Hazardous Areas (areas where there are flammable substances which have a risk of explosion). ATEX 137 is the EU directive that governs worker protection in Hazardous Areas.

Hazardous Area Equipment, Legislation & Safe Practice

Duration: 1 1/2 days or 3 days

Our most popular and highly-rated course, the 3-day programme* is aimed at those involved at every level gain a solid understanding of the safety of Ex equipment, current safety legislation and codes of practice. It looks at the types of equipment used, protection methods and maintenance of these hazardous areas.

* The first 1 1/2 days of this course summarise the electrical and non-electrical protection methods, mandatory requirements and hazardous area terminology. It also provides a detailed coverage of the ATEX directives and DSEAR. Those wanting just an overview of the subject with emphasis on the legislation may want to attend this portion only.

Duration: 1 day
Price: £430.00 + VAT
Recommended Attendees: This 1-day course is for Manufacturers who require a solid background in ATEX Principles.

This course looks at the main principles of Directive 94/9/EC including the requirements and responsibilities of those involved.
