Sira Test & Certification Ltd is planning significant expansion in personnel to meet the growth needs of our business. We are the largest UK Notified Body for explosion safety (Ex) equipment with an international reputation for high quality services that meet the exacting demands of our clients. Operating from three offices: Chester, Bakewell and Crayford, we deliver CE marking, functional safety, quality assurance, training and site assessment (DSEAR) services to a large number of blue chip clients.

Graduate Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical Engineers
Sira Certification has international reputation for delivering a high quality service to clients worldwide. From manufacturers of process control equipment and high voltage rotating machines to end-users in the oil and gas, coal mining, food processing and pharmaceutical industries, Sira is a trusted name for testing, certification and compliance services.
Talented graduate engineers are needed to join our teams working on compliance testing of explosion safety equipment. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects are essential.
Successful applicants will:
- Carry out assessment of equipment against published standards
- Specify and, in some cases, carry out test programmes
- Conduct on-site assessments and/or test work at the clients’ premises. This may involve foreign travel
- Prepare compliance reports and certification documents
Full training will be provided, but you will be required to carry out the above duties at an early stage.

Technical Auditors Required: Part-time or Sub-contract
To satisfy immediate demand, Sira is looking to recruit high calibre management system auditors, ideally IRCA registered with relevant industrial experience in the following sectors:

Instrumentation, measurement and control equipment
-
Manufacture and repair of rotating machines
-
Equipment for use in hazardous areas
You will be responsible for carrying out individual and integrated assessments against specific sector scheme requirements and management systems requirements such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
You will need to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of effective management systems and their role in reducing risk and providing assurance to organisations and their stakeholders. It is essential that the applicant has the ability to read technical drawings and apply technical judgements where necessary.
BTEC HNC/Degree qualified in a technical discipline, you will possess excellent written and verbal skills, be pragmatic and credible, and have a high standard of personal presentation.You will have a minimum of four years' experience in, or providing consultancy to, the relevant sectors.
The position may be home-based or office-based but will involve travel, mainly throughout the UK but occasionally abroad, including regular periods away from home. Offices are in Chester, Bakewell and Crayford.

Ex Product Certification Engineers
We are currently recruiting engineers with experience in intrinsic safety, flameproof or reliability concepts.
Successful applicants will be customer-focused and have a background in manufacturing, process, or compliance assessment. Experience of working in a compliance or certification field along with a qualification in electrical/mechanical engineering is desirable, although relevant industrial experience will be taken into account and high quality intensive training will be provided. In addition, good communication, problem solving and project management skills are essential. The Sira benefits package
USA Sales Agents
Sira is currently expanding its operations in the United States and is actively looking for talented and high quality individuals or organisations to represent and liaise with our existing client base and identify new opportunities primarily in the hazardous location industry.
Working in association with our UK base, and being fully supported and trained in all aspects of the industry, you will be expected to have a record of achievement and knowledge of HAZLOC approvals. Additional experience in CE marking or equipment approvals would be a distinct advantage.
