Product certification is not always a straightforward task. Manufacturers often learn that their products have not passed a certain test, or fall short of the requirements of certain clauses with the relevant standards during a certification project.
Manufacturers who have experienced this first hand are not alone. In fact, many companies encounter their fair share of certification problems when undertaking an approvals project.
This is not to say that the product in question has been designed or manufactured poorly. In the vast majority of cases, the problems occur when clients do not fully appreciate the array of compliance issues that need to be considered when certifying a product.
In Sira’s experience, the way to a successful certification project is through communication. That is why Sira can offer Pre-Certification guidance, typically known as Certification Support.
Certification support takes the form of a session(s) of technical advice. We will sit down with you at the outset, before any testing or assessment has taken place. We discuss your product in length, and your certification requirements. We can inform you of the relevant standards that you need to design the product against, and identify any pitfalls from a certification viewpoint.
The end objective is that pre-certification support gives you (and us) a good idea of whether your product will pass first time, or if there are things that you need to be before submitting the product for certification.
We can even come on site and spend time with your designers in your environment during the approvals project, to ensure any necessary changes are carried out immediately. This offers a practical approach to certification issues and, in our experience, drastically reduces timescales when it comes to product approval.
Certification support can be as flexible as you need it to be. We quote on an hourly basis, so you only pay for the amount of time that you need.
